As a solo or small firm lawyer, you face many challenges: keeping track of billable hours, sending invoices on time, managing client communications, and organizing case files—all while staying on top of deadlines. Without the right systems in place, these tasks can feel overwhelming.

This program will introduce you to how billing and practice management software can simplify your daily operations. Learn how billing tools can help you automate invoicing, track time accurately, and streamline payment collection. Discover how practice management software organizes case files, schedules tasks and deadlines, and centralizes client communications, making your work more efficient.

Join the Washington State Bar Association’s Practice Management Advisor to explore how adopting these user-friendly tech solutions can help you manage your practice with ease, reduce mistakes, and free up time to focus on what matters most.

Presenter's Bio:

Margeaux Green is the Practice Management Advisor at the Washington State Bar Association, where she supports solo and small firm attorneys in improving their business operations through technology and efficient systems. Prior to this role, Margeaux spent four years as a family law attorney at a small firm in Seattle, where she faced many of the challenges common to attorneys—managing deadlines, tracking billable hours, handling client communications, and keeping case files organized. Through these experiences, she became passionate about how technology can automate and streamline a law practice, ultimately enhancing both client service and attorney well-being.

Margeaux has been a lawyer for eight years, and her current role as Practice Management Advisor allows her to combine her legal expertise with her interest in technology. She also serves as the staff liaison to the Washington State Bar Association’s Legal Technology Task Force. The task force is focused on evaluating the legal technology landscape and developing recommendations that support the ethical, effective, and efficient use of technology in legal practices. Its goal is to help lawyers integrate tech solutions that improve practice management and enhance access to justice.
