Noon to 1:00 PM

By Zoom
(login information will be provided to all registrants
before the meeting)

The Skagit County Bar Association is holding a Special Meeting of the membership on September 5, 2023 at noon via Zoom. The purpose of the Special Meeting will be to vote on a proposed amendment to the Skagit County Bar Association Bylaws through the addition of a new class of membership: Future Attorney Members.  This will open SCBA's membership to future attorneys free of charge and allow them to contribute to our association:

The vote will be regarding the addition of the following proposed language to the bylaws:

1.1.5 Future Attorneys Members. Law Students currently in the process of obtaining their first J.D. (or comparable initial law degree), as well as current WSBA Rule 6 Law Clerks, and current WSBA Rule 9 Licensed Legal Interns shall be eligible for Future Attorneys Membership, upon filing an application. Future Attorneys Members are non-voting Members and may not hold elected office or serve as Standing Committee Chairperson, but may belong to any Committee as a member.

[…]

1.2.4. No annual dues for Future Attorneys membership.

We encourage you to RSVP and participate to this online meeting so that we can meet the required quorum (10 current resident members) and hear your opinions before the upcoming vote.  The Zoom login information will be sent to all registered participants before the meeting.
