1. Commissioners Nielsen & Eason will discuss District and Municipal Court practices under the new systems and rules for trials and hearings.
2. Mary Ryan, District Court supervisor for the prosecutor’s office, and Jeri Chavez, District Court supervisor for the Public Defender, will address how their offices address various aspects of court impacted by recent changes in procedure.
3. Community Court team introductions and explanation of the programs and the different Community Court processes, resources, and locations.  Team includes:  Leticia Nunez, coordinator; Lucy Kesterson, case advocate; Commissioner Paul Nielsen; Judge Jenifer Howson; Deputy Prosecutor Mary Ryan; and Defense Jeri Chavez.
4. District Court Probation services update by James Malcolm, Director of Probation Services.
5. Jail alternatives updates from a Deputy with Jail Programs. 
6. Judge Jenifer Howson with discuss licensing clinic and DWLS court updates and new specialized therapeutic courts under development.
7. Andy Dugan, Executive Director Skagit Legal Aid, on legal services  programs relevant to District Court practice.

This CLE is offered both in-person and by Zoom.  If you choose to attend in-person please note that you will have to comply with all Emergency Orders from the Skagit Courts, including the mandates regarding proof of vaccination and mask requirements.  Please see attached:
